He graduated with distinction from Enid High School prior to attending the University of Oklahoma as an Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Scholar. While at OU, he was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Drumline as well as the Sooner Showmen basketball band. Dr. Hromas graduated from OU in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Biomedical Sciences, and has maintained a strong devotion to OU football.

Dr. Hromas remained in-state for medical school and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2010. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouir-Kansas City prior to beginning his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas. Dr. Hromas served as Chief Resident during his final year at KU. During residency, he presented a talk at the Table Rock Regional Meeting in Ridgedale, MO, and a poster at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) meeting in Orlando, FL.

Following residency, Dr. Hromas went on to complete fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Retina & Vitreous of Texas in Houston, a private program boasting high surgical volume, an experienced and diverse faculty, and participation in the ongoing DRCR.NET and HAWK trials investigating new therapies for diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. During fellowship, he was published in the September 2015 issue of Retinal Physician.

In 2015, Dr. Hromas and his wife, Carrie (a practicing Pediatrician) welcomed their son, Wyatt. With deep roots in Oklahoma and Kansas, the family decision to move back to the Midwest following fellowship was an easy one.

"My wife and I are happy to call Wichita home. Our families are still in the area, and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to return to the Midwest to practice," said Dr. Hromas.

“I also feel very fortunate to be providing vitreo-retinal care at a time when we have very effective treatments for conditions that were very difficult to manage only 15 years ago. My personal goal as a physician is to ensure my patients clearly understand their disease process and the available treatment options, and to deliver those treatments in an effective, timely manner."

Welcome Dr. Hromas!
