*Update: 3/21/20*

Grene Vision Group is committed to keeping our patients, staff and public healthy during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the delay of all non-essential medical procedures and visits. All Grene Vision Group offices and optical departments are temporarily CLOSED to adhere to those recommendations.

We will continue to provide vision-saving treatment for our patients with the most pressing eye problems. A limited number of Grene Vision Group offices will have varying hours between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, for eye emergencies ONLY. Grene Vision Group will also be available for emergent care outside normal hours. Please call (316) 636-2010 or (800) 788-3060 for all eye emergencies. Our Call Center will be available weekdays to answer your calls.

If you have a non-emergent appointment scheduled, our staff will contact you to reschedule the appointment for a later date. All eyeglasses will be available for pickup once the offices reopen.

We value the care and safety of all Grene Vision Group patients and staff and thank you for your understanding. These actions will also preserve staff employment, personal protective equipment and patient care supplies.

Note: For Grene Vision Group patients with valid contact lens prescriptions, reorders are available by completing the form at Your contact lenses will be mailed to you and any shipping costs have been waived.

*Update: 3/18/20*

We continue to rise to the challenge of caring for our patients during this time of crisis. In order to comply with the most up-to-date guidelines provided by the CDC, we are implementing the following changes starting immediately:

  • Waiting area chairs are being spaced to allow for the appropriate 6 feet between each, which may mean removing chairs
  • If this means there is only space for one patient to wait at a time, any additional patients will be asked to wait in their car until it is time to go back for their exam. You will then be called when it is time to see the doctor
  • Only patients are allowed in the exam room, with the exception of patients who are minors requiring a legal guardian or patients requiring physical assistance of a guardian/family member. All other family members and guests will be asked to wait in their car until the conclusion of the visit

In addition, we ask that you review the following and consider rescheduling you appointment if you meet any of these criteria:

  • Have you been out of the country or anywhere with a travel advisory within the last 14 days?
  • Have been exposed to someone who is suspected of having COVID-19?
  • Are you over 60 years of age?
  • Have you had any flu-like symptoms within the past 48 hours including:
    • fever
    • cough
    • shortness of breath
    • runny nose
    • diarrhea

We thank you for your patience during this time.

*End 3/18/20 Update*

Grene Vision Group is committed to keeping our patients and the public healthy during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, we are instituting the following measures.

Is Grene Vision Group remaining open thru the COVID-19 pandemic?

We will continue to provide vision-saving treatment for our patients. However, we will need to modify how patients move through our offices and change our schedule to minimize the risk of infecting our patients and staff.

At this time, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the delay of all non-essential medical procedures and visits. Our staff will work with you to reschedule these appointments for a later date.

If your condition requires a follow up, we will be in touch with rescheduling and will take active measures to address urgent visits and procedures now and throughout this crisis. Please note that while office hours may vary for emergent cases during this time, our staff will address any schedule changes with you prior to your emergent visit.

Thank you for your understanding, as these actions will preserve staff employment, personal protective equipment and patient care supplies.

Should I keep my appointment?

We will be calling you before your appointment, as well as inquiring at check-in, to ask if you have any risk factors that might put others at risk including travel history, fever, cough or shortness of breath. If you have these symptoms please call your doctor. Please do not reschedule your eye appointment until your doctor or the health authorities say it is safe to do so. If you have no symptoms but have a travel history or contact with someone who has either a fever or cough, or tested positive for the Coronavirus, we need you to reschedule to postpone your appointment for at least 14 days.

How will my office visit be different?

Depending on the volume of patients in the office at any one time, we may ask you to wait outside or in your car until we are ready to call you back.

We ask that only one person accompany each patient and will limit exam areas to patients only, with drivers either remaining in the main waiting room area, outside, or in their cars.

We will also clean the exam rooms between each patient encounter, including wiping all surfaces with approved disinfectants.

We are here to help!

If you have any questions regarding your appointment or care, please call Grene Vision Group at (316) 636-2010 or (800) 788-3060 or the office nearest you. Please be patient since we will be responding to many calls.

We understand how much you value your eye care and we are committed to continue to provide it. We know that many of our patients are at significant risk for losing vision if they don’t come in for their scheduled visits. Thank you for your understanding and keeping Grene Vision Group a safe space for everyone.
