Suzanne Sweetman Buchanan, OD is an optometrist specializing in primary care optometry. She sees patients ages 3 and older for routine eye examinations, diabetic exams, contact lens fittings and comanagement after eye surgery. Our optometrists also see patients with ocular disease or trauma. If a patient's ocular needs require a specialist, there is a Grene Vision Group ophthalmologist in each subspecialty which to seamlessly refer for appropriate care. Dr. Buchanan's goal is to provide excellent eye care effeciently and in a kind, friendly manner to all patients.
Excluding the time spent away for education, Dr. Buchanan is proud to be a lifelong Wichitan. In fact, the time she spent away taught her how to really appreciate her hometown. After earning an undergraduate degree in Human Biology from the University of Kansas, Dr. Buchanan attended the University of Houston to obtain her doctorate in optometry. Externships at the Albuquerque VA Hospital and the Crownpoint Navajo Indian Health Hospital were invaluable to her practical application of optometry. She then completed a one-year residency program in family optometry at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK before joining Grene Vision Group in 1994.
As a blended family, she and her husband have four children and four grandchildren -- who are their main source of entertainment. They also stay involved at their church in various capacities. Her husband is a nostalgia dragster racer, and Dr. Buchanan loves to read historical fiction and is learning to play the drums.

Anita Campbell, MD grew up in Lenexa, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. Excelling in her high school studies, she received a full scholarship to the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. With medicine in mind, she created her own major in Bioinformatics, which uses computer programming for biological studies. While interning with the Cerner Corporation, an electronic medical record company, she was able to advance this new technology and apply her knowledge to various hospitals and clinics as a physician clinical assistant. After graduating with her double major in Computer Science and Bioinformatics, Dr. Campbell returned home and attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Choosing ophthalmology as her medical specialty, she remained at KU to complete her residency. Dr. Campbell completed her education with fellowship training in glaucoma at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Campbell, a board-certified ophthalmologist, joined GVG in 2015. She specializes in adult glaucoma, including medical and surgical aspects (laser trabeculoplasty, trabeculectomy, tube shunt and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery) as well as cataract and implant surgery.
“I have chosen a specialty in glaucoma because I appreciate the continuity of care that gives me the privilege to build relationships with my patients. This relationship extends from meeting patients for the first time through diagnosing their condition and guiding them through what can sometimes be a lengthy and challenging treatment process. No one solution fits all patients, and choices of surgical procedures and personalization of care can be the most rewarding aspects, particularly when they improve the quality of my patients’ lives,” Dr. Campbell said.
Dr. Campbell enjoys traveling and discovering new places and cultures throughout the world. She adores spending time with family and friends, be it at fun restaurants, listening to music, or just playing hostess to loved ones at home. While maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, she likes to run, swim, hike, play the violin and volunteer in her community. Dr. Campbell is joined by her husband, Cody, and a daughter and they have enjoyed settling in Wichita while working in and serving the community.

The field of low vision and neuro-optometric rehabilitation is very rewarding. There are constant struggles that an individual with these disorders faces as part of their ""normal"" life. Difficulties range from cooking and laundry to bill paying and shopping, and solutions to all of these concerns are readily available. Through rehabilitation and education we can make a significant improvement in the patient's confidence and independence. The low vision exam works in coordination with a patient's regular optometric exam.
During a low vision evaluation, we determine the individual goals and struggles the patient notices and then work on viable solutions. Once we have developed a plan, the patient returns to his or her general optometrist for all future care. Patients who have had traumatic brain injury or who suffer from a neuro-degenerative disease have specific concerns and needs regarding balance and visual perception. These needs are ongoing and ever changing, but a variety of solutions exist to aid in meeting patients' needs.

Terria L. Winn, MD is a board certified ophthalmic surgeon specializing in cataract and implant surgery. She is a native Kansan, born in Norton and raised in nearby Colby. Dr. Winn now resides in Wichita where she has been in private practice for more than 20 years. She was the first female eye surgeon in Wichita and was the only female eye surgeon in Wichita for 15 years. She is currently the Medical Director of the Team Vision Surgery Center where she and many of her partners at Grene Vision Group perform eye surgery.
She was one of the first eye surgeons in Wichita to use topical anesthesia, starting in 1996. Her standard surgical technique utilizes eye drops to “numb” the eye and a no stitch, no needle approach, allowing the patient to leave the operating room without a patch and eliminating the need to stop “blood thinners.”
Dr. Winn was the first surgeon in Wichita, and one of the first in Kansas to implant the Acrysof foldable intraocular lens after receiving FDA approval in the mid 1990s. She was also the first in Wichita and the surrounding area to implant the Acyrysof Toric intraocular lens that corrects astigmatism. Dr. Winn was the first surgeon in Wichita and second surgeon in Kansas to implant the new multifocal IOL -- Active Focus Multifocal Toric IOL -- in June 2017.
She is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, receiving the Citation for graduating in the upper 10 percent of her medical school class. Dr. Winn was initiated into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society while still in her medical school training in Kansas. During the completion of her ophthalmology residency training in Houston, she was voted “The Most Outstanding Third Year Resident” by her peers. She also served as the Chief Resident during her final year of residency.
Aside from being known for her surgical skills in advanced microincision cataract surgery, Dr. Winn is probably best known by her professional peers and patients for her kindness, personal attention, and contagious smile. This validates her practice philosophy, “A Special Kind of Care.”
