About Dr. Martin de la Presa

Dr. de la Presa moved from Spain to Twin Falls, Idaho at an early age where he excelled in both athletics and academic studies.

He was recruited to play football at one of the top academic institutions in the country. At Macalester College he double majored in Cognitive & Neuroscience Studies and Psychology. Learning about the human experience gave him great compassion for human suffering and led to career in medicine. He traveled from west to east across the USA to train at the top programs throughout the country. At the University of Utah School of Medicine, he developed a passion for research and innovation earning multiple national and international awards for his work. There he became fascinated with the anatomy of the eye and by the broad spectrum of systemic disease that affects eye health. Prior to ophthalmology residency, he completed an internship in general surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University to gain a strong foundation in the surgical management of disease. He then moved east where he completed training in comprehensive ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. He was selected to complete a prestigious fellowship in cornea and external disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute – a national referral center for complex ocular surface disease.

"I chose to pursue a career as a cornea and ocular surface transplant specialist as I was drawn to the precision and technical challenge of the field. I enjoy developing relationships with each of my patients and forming a treatment plan tailored for their individual needs. Ultimately, the greatest reward is seeing the significant improvement in the quality of life of patients who have had their visual function restored.”

Dr. de la Presa enjoys spending time with family while seeking adventures across the country. He is an outdoorsman who loves to go camping, hunting, sailing, and fishing. He has a passion for riding horses and raising livestock on his small farm. Dr. de la Presa is joined by his wife, Amanda, and their four children.

Dr. de la Presa provides care to his patients at the Grene Vision Group Ridge Road and Woodlawn locations in Wichita, KS.
