Bio

David T. Truong, MD is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. He performs the full spectrum of corneal transplant surgery and is one of the first surgeons in Wichita to offer DMEK, the latest form of corneal transplantation. He has been formally trained since residency in the latest cataract surgical techniques, and he implants the most advanced lenses available. He also offers LASIK and PRK to help his patients achieve the best vision possible.

Dr. Truong graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the largest and busiest ophthalmology training program in the country, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Following residency, he obtained further training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute as the Klara Fleming Fellow and Abe Meyer Memorial Fellow where he routinely managed the most complex corneal disease referrals from all over the world. He has published extensively and has been honored to serve as Faculty at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting and presented a best resident poster at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

In their free time, Dr. Truong and his wife enjoy traveling, skiing, snowboarding and exploring local culture and food. They look forward to starting their new family in Kansas.
